Jackie Evancho Impresses Britain's Got Talent too!

On Saturday night, America’s phenomenal eleven-year-old soprano Jackie Evancho garnered an overwhelming response at the Britain's Got Talent final.  Most of us recall that Evancho was runner-up on America's Got Talent last year, where she sang a duet with her idol Sarah Brightman on the finale.  Naturally, this begs the question: did she appear on the British version of the program because last season the Yanks got it wrong?  Is she no longer American talent?

Perhaps young Jackie Evancho is rightly being recognized as a global talent.  After all, her fully mature “adult” voice seemed so disconnected from her cherubic image on the television that many initially thought the voice was somehow dubbed in.  The amazing voice is in fact however fully connected to this rising star.

In last night’s finale, she offered up "Nessun Dorma" from Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot to an appropriately appreciative audience.

Jackie Evancho is indeed destined for great things.  Following her experience on AGT, she signed a recording contract with SYCO/Columbia Records which is also the label of Britain's Got Talent superstar Susan Boyle.  Unsurprisingly, Evancho’s debut effort, O Holy Night, achieved platinum status last December.

Her next album, Dream With Me, will be released on June 14.  In this, her first full-length album, Jackie Evancho collaborates with album producer and sixteen-time Grammy Award-winner David Foster on a wonderful repertoire of classical arias, pop classics and Oscar-winning show tunes.  She sings "Somewhere" featuring Barbra Streisand "A Mother's Prayer" with Susan Boyle.
