Jackie Evancho Sounds So Much Older Than She Is!

Check out eleven year old Jackie Evancho as she graces Piers Morgan's program on CNN on Friday evening. If you close your eyes, you'd never think this incredibly mature voice comes from such a precious young lady. As she has in numerous other venues, she appeared along with her award-winning producer, David Foster.

Prior to her coming on, Morgan visited with music legend Andrew Lloyd Webber. Interestingly, the budding career of Jackie Evancho is the result of a family outing when she was just seven years old to the movie, "Phantom of the Opera" and its powerful musical score by Andrew Lloyd Webber. According to her official website, her mother then bought the DVD of the film and from that time forward, Jackie would go about their home singing the songs in her beautiful soprano voice.

Through the balance of the summer, she'll be on a nationwide tour that begins in Sun Valley, ID on July 31st and concludes August 31st in Dallas with stops along the way in Atlanta, Highland Park, IL and Omaha.

Jackie Evancho - Another Incredible Week

Well, it’s been another incredible week for the eleven year-old singing sensation who was described by someone as the “pretty little girl with a grown up opera voice.”  Jackie Evancho’s fans made the debut of her new album, Dream with Me come in at number two on the Billboard chart displacing Lady Gaga’s latest recording effort, the aptly titled Born This Way.  Jackie, for her part, was almost apologetic when asked earlier this month about besting both Gaga and English singer-songwriter Adele in the Amazon list saying, “I feel kind of sad, because I’m kicking them out of their spots.”

Fresh off a Tuesday night appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno where she delivered an absolutely captivating rendition of Sarah McLachlin’s Angel, Jackie followed up with a daytime visit on Friday to The Talk (CBS) with Sharon Osbourne.  Asked about how she manages to handle her new found fame, Jackie told Sharon that her “parents keep her grounded.”  This was such a refreshing and clearly honest response that speaks volumes about her family life and upbringing.  When asked about her favorite place to visit (so far), she was quick to say Malibu – “It’s so cool there… I found a sand dollar there!”

Ambassador for Animals

Although Jackie Evancho is a relative newcomer, she has already begun to use her rightly earned notoriety for philanthropic endeavors.  Last year she joined the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International to speak out against the killing of harp seals for their fur.  Harp seals are adorable animals that migrate to Canada’s east coast annually to give birth; when they’re first born, baby harp seals have snowy white coats that help them blend in to the snow and ice that is their home.
Because she has committed herself to help not only seals but all animals, the Humane Society of the United States named Jackie Evancho an Ambassador for Animals.  In this capacity, she shares information about important animal issues with her fans and the public in addition to encouraging kids to get involved, too.  As an Ambassador for Animals, Jackie is also the spokesperson for Mission: Humane, a Humane Society of the United States program that guides children in helping animals.  Mission: Humane focuses on specific issues and campaigns to protect animals while also providing information on everything from how to start a club at school to actions anyone can take to make a difference.  For more information about Mission: Humane, visit humanesociety.org
What’s next for Jackie Evancho?  Next week, June 30th to be specific, she’ll drop in to see Piers Morgan on his CNN show.  Stay tuned for the latest Jackie Evancho news!

Jackie Evancho Impresses Britain's Got Talent too!

On Saturday night, America’s phenomenal eleven-year-old soprano Jackie Evancho garnered an overwhelming response at the Britain's Got Talent final.  Most of us recall that Evancho was runner-up on America's Got Talent last year, where she sang a duet with her idol Sarah Brightman on the finale.  Naturally, this begs the question: did she appear on the British version of the program because last season the Yanks got it wrong?  Is she no longer American talent?

Perhaps young Jackie Evancho is rightly being recognized as a global talent.  After all, her fully mature “adult” voice seemed so disconnected from her cherubic image on the television that many initially thought the voice was somehow dubbed in.  The amazing voice is in fact however fully connected to this rising star.

In last night’s finale, she offered up "Nessun Dorma" from Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot to an appropriately appreciative audience.

Jackie Evancho is indeed destined for great things.  Following her experience on AGT, she signed a recording contract with SYCO/Columbia Records which is also the label of Britain's Got Talent superstar Susan Boyle.  Unsurprisingly, Evancho’s debut effort, O Holy Night, achieved platinum status last December.

Her next album, Dream With Me, will be released on June 14.  In this, her first full-length album, Jackie Evancho collaborates with album producer and sixteen-time Grammy Award-winner David Foster on a wonderful repertoire of classical arias, pop classics and Oscar-winning show tunes.  She sings "Somewhere" featuring Barbra Streisand "A Mother's Prayer" with Susan Boyle.
